There Are So Many Types of Beautiful

This collection of messy oils was born in the cold days of February and now, here it is. The art is on a variety of surfaces in an array of sizes, some with frames and some without. I tried to paint within certain colour hues to create artwork that flowed together. When all 10 pieces of the collection were finished, I set them all up on the mantle above the fireplace and took a step back. There they all were, with hues and textures that I hadn’t expected when I first started out. I had been hoping for more of a cohesive look, but as I worked on each painting the colours seemed to choose themselves.
While trying to decide how to launch this collection, I saw the words “There Are So Many Types of Beautiful”. Those simple words helped me accept the beauty of each piece and seemed to give them all a home in the collection. And to the one who's reading this, I do hope you know that you are a beautiful creation as well.
